Candlewyth is "a challenging, party-based dungeon RPG for Playdate", inspired by games like Wizardry and Planescape: Torment. Beneath a dying sun, the town of Candlewyth burns candles of Tallew, a strange wax harvested from the depths of Ravenstowe that is believed to ward off what lurks in the dark. People are disappearing anyway, so your party descends into Ravenstowe to harvest Tallew and look for the missing.
It's a 2.5D, first-person dungeon crawl with a party drawn from six classes: Lantern Knights, Men-at-arms, Fen Fowlers, Leeches, Reckoners and Star-Scryers. Combat is radial and turn-based: enemies can come at you from four directions, and the layout matters, since a narrow corridor protects your flanks but leaves you open from behind, while an open chamber exposes every side.
The game is marked In development on itch.io. The page offers a browser demo you can play with a desktop browser and keyboard (no Playdate needed), and says a Playdate demo covering the first dungeon level through its boss is planned.
