CRANKBLADE is a 1-bit samurai duelling game for Playdate where the crank is your sword. Turning it holds your blade high, middle or low, and a sword only covers its own zone, so the whole game is one rule: "guard where they strike, and hit where their sword isn't." Press B at the last instant to parry, time slows, and then you strike.
The story follows Itakao, whose father Lord Ikagawa Kurosaka was killed by hired blades; the shogun orders him to hunt them down. It has six duels, each with its own fighter, tricks and stage, staged story scenes, an original score, three difficulties, a tutorial, a Duels mode for rematches, a left or right stance and adjustable crank sensitivity. It was published on itch.io on 2 Nov 2026 with no set price.
