What it is

Fauna is set in a near future where "LLM technology has advanced to the point where humans can use it to communicate with animals". Rival factions fight over the technology, and animals, "now that they have a voice", want equal rights. You guide the hacker duo Jun and Polly through a branching, choose-your-own-adventure comic. One playthrough takes about 15–20 minutes, and Panic's staff note says you'll "want to come back to experience fully". It's self-paced, with low-precision crank, D-pad, A-button and tilt controls.

It's by Cadin Batrack, creator of the Panels comic engine and the earlier Playdate comics The Botanist and To Dust. Both of those were linear; Fauna branches. It launched in the Catalog on 20 January 2026 for $9 and is a Panic Staff Pick.
