What it is

Glider PD is, in the developer's words, "an implementation of Glider 4.05 by John Calhoun for the Playdate." Glider is the classic Macintosh game where you steer a paper airplane through the rooms of a house.

Its big extra is a level editor. The "Run Game" button on the itch.io page opens a web-based editor where you can make and play your own levels. The developer says those levels are fully compatible with the original game for classic Macs and can also be sideloaded onto a Playdate and played there.

The developer calls the editor the main thing that sets Glider PD apart from the similar port in Catalog (Glider Retro), along with the fact that, unlike that one, it was made without AI. It was published on itch.io on 29 Oct 2026 with no price tag.

Who made it

Liam O'Connor, credited as the author on itch.io. Glider and Glider 4.05 are by John Calhoun.
