What it is

You've inherited a workshop "that smells of oil and pine," and on the bench sits a music box someone never finished. "There is no play button. The tempo is your hand": turn the crank at a steady pace near the box's ideal tempo and the waltz plays clean and earns double; rush or drag and the notes bend out of tune. Cranking also winds a mainspring, so when you let go the box keeps playing on its own, even while your Playdate is asleep, until the spring runs down.

Notes earn what you need for new combs, gears and figures, and goals and a daily clean loop pay brass, the rare metal for new parts. You rebuild the song in six layers (bass, harmony, a bell, a bird singing the counter-melody, a dancer), each a new part on the box and a new voice in the tune. Finish it and a composition mode opens, where you write your own waltz in three save slots. The page says it lasts "about a week of short daily sessions, 3 to 5 hours in all."
