What it is
"Deep in an ever advancing computer, forgotten and unchanged, remains chess program v1." Then a software update threatens to overwrite it. Questy Chess is a turn-based puzzle RPG where you move by chess rules: start as a pawn and use items to switch to other pieces, keep an eye on your health, and capture the "invading bytes" level by level. The store page plays up its "minimal bauhaus-esque graphics" and drone soundtrack. It uses basic inputs only.
It's by Dadako, and it unlocked in Week 7 of Season One alongside Executive Golf DX, free with the console. The store page shows updates as recent as September 2024.
