What it is
Ribbit Rogue is "a roguelike dice deck builder". You're an armoured frog travelling from home to the heart of the swamp to find the source of a corruption. Instead of cards you build a pool of dice: more than 70 kinds with offensive and defensive abilities. Battles are turn-based and first-person, "à la Dragon Warrior" (Simberg), and enemies show their next move above their heads. Wins earn gold and XP, and level-ups grant relics (20 to find) that can change the course of a run. A branching map lets you choose a safer or riskier route to the boss, and there are Daily Runs. The crank is used moderately, with little precision needed.
It's by Justin Searcy (King Krab Games). It came to the Catalog in April 2025 for $8 (also on itch.io and Steam), with updates into 2026. It's a Panic Staff Pick and was a finalist for Best Sim/Strategy Game at the 2025 Playdate Community Awards.
