Ars Technica (Sam Machkovech, 18 Apr 2022). likes that it "stands in stark contrast to the giddy, cartoony fare that dominates Playdate's first season", and calls it a "tight, surprising throwback".

What it is
Saturday Edition tells the story of John Kornfield, a security technician who "made headlines in 1976 with his account of alien abduction, life on another world, and eventual return to earth". Ten years later, people start disappearing as mysterious lights appear in the sky, and Kornfield is back in the spotlight. It plays as a slow side-scrolling adventure: no cursor and no verb list, just walking, talking, examining things and combining items from your inventory, with no time limit and no deaths. It doesn't use the crank.
It's by Chris Makris (Wild Rose), who did story, graphics, music and design, with sound by A Shell in the Pit. It unlocked in Week 8 of Season One alongside Star Sled, free with the console. An official walkthrough is linked from the store page. The content note mentions "a small amount of realistic violence", and there's a photosensitivity warning.
