What it is
snow! bills itself as "a unique FPS (first person skier) game", with "infinite skiing in a full 3d environment, loosely set in the French Alps". You ski downhill in first person with no finish line, doing jumps and spins and collecting coins to spend in the station shop on gear, including goggles that change your view in "fun (although never helpful) ways", according to Simberg. Each track type plays differently. Marmottes, for example, offers either "forest" or "open slope" and random encounters, and is the best place to earn from tricks. You can steer with the D-pad or the crank. The store warns it "may induce dizziness if sensitive to fast movements". It has online scoreboards.
It's by freds72, released in the Catalog in February 2025 for $5 (also on itch.io), with updates into January 2026. Panic's staff note calls it "a beautiful first-person 3D skiing game that really shows off what the Playdate can do". At the 2025 Playdate Community Awards it was a finalist for Outstanding Technical Achievement and Outstanding Visual Achievement in an SDK Game.
