What it is
"While embarking on a grand journey to deliver a basket of extremely important mushrooms, you accidentally spilled them. All of them. In a lot of places." Spilled Mushrooms is a card puzzle game. Each run is a week, seven turns, to collect a set number of mushrooms from three habitats. Each turn you choose between two critter cards, each with a gathering stat, a time cost and usually a special ability, and the strategy lies in how the animals' abilities combine. Runs take under five minutes, puzzles are procedurally generated, and there are daily challenges and a custom-delivery mode. Nothing needs speed or precision, and the crank (used to reveal extra rules) can be swapped for B.
It's by John Weachock, released in the Catalog in September 2024 for $9, with a free demo on itch.io and updates into May 2026. It won Best Continued Support at the 2025 Playdate Community Awards. Panic's staff note calls it "a wonderful, inventive card puzzle game the Playdate is lucky to have".
