What it is

To Dust is "the second interactive sci-fi adventure comic set in the world of The Botanist". This time the Botanist searches the spirit world for answers to the disappearance of a fellow scientist. Like the first, it's a linear story of about 15–20 minutes, navigated at your own pace with low-precision crank, D-pad, A-button and tilt controls. The content note: "The story in this comic deals with death and the afterlife."

It's written and drawn by Cadin Batrack and built with his Panels engine, with music by One Man Symphony. It came to the Catalog in August 2023 for $9 (also on itch.io, with a free demo) and is in Panic's "Great Stories" collection. Batrack's next comic was the branching Fauna (2026).

Coverage is thin: we found no independent review specific to To Dust. Engadget's best-games list mentions a Botanist "sequel" without naming it.
