"Help Trickle Greenweed, newly qualified mermaid attorney, save Christmas!" Seanta has been "accused of murdering CHRISTMAS ITSELF", and Trickle and her new friend Sparky the mer-elf have to prove his innocence. It's a visual novel courtroom drama: you meet the Christmas cast, interrogate witnesses, gather clues and find the real culprit, in a story "full of turnabouts and ace attorneys battling it out". It's designed for all ages. Murder is mentioned but none happens, and there's "some very light innuendo". It uses the D-pad and buttons, the crank is optional, and nothing is timed.
It's by Kieran Anthony Penrice. The store says this first case was originally released for the Game Boy. The Playdate version came to the Catalog in December 2023 for $6 and is in Panic's "Great Stories" collection.
