Season Three week 4: HELLEVATOR and Chance's Lucky Escape 2

The final pair of Season Three games arrived with the Thursday 29 October drop, and Panic's Season Three page now lists HELLEVATOR and Chance's Lucky Escape 2 under Week 4. That completes the Season: eight games over four weeks, $39 in Catalog.

HELLEVATOR (DRD) is an action adventure. You descend into the abyss aboard the HELLEVATOR to find the source of strange tremors plaguing your home, exploring ancient ruins, meeting new friends and fighting through caverns of enemies. Levels are procedurally generated, so they're different every time, and DRD lists 3 biomes, 24 ancient relics to discover, 4 weapons to unlock and 9 potions to brew. Music is by Not Jam. It uses the A and B buttons, the D-pad and the crank, and Panic notes that precise button input is required. It contains cartoonish violence against fantasy characters. 14.7 MB.

Chance's Lucky Escape 2 (Goloso Games & Julia Minamata) is a point-and-click adventure that picks up right where Season Two's Chance's Lucky Escape left off: Chance is still on the run, and the authorities are closing in. It has a new series of chapters full of puzzles and exploration, and every chapter hides a secret collectible; find them all to unlock a secret ending. Story and code are by Goloso Games, art by Julia Minamata and sound and music by Philip Aldous. It uses the A and B buttons, the crank, the accelerometer and the microphone, and Panic says it "requires absolutely no effort or precision with the crank." It's rated appropriate for everyone. 61.9 MB, first published 29 October.

Both developers say their games were made without generative AI, as Panic says of the whole Season.
